Community Health Events
Coordinated by Marie Meckel, PA
Our work has expanded into cervical and breast cancer prevention.
Led by MEG President Marie Meckel and Cecilia Kakariba, DDHS, the team conducted a cervical cancer training in northern Ghana, where over 1,000 women were screened. More importantly, local healthcare practitioners were trained in a sustainable screening technique known as VIA (Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid).
Our next initiative involves introducing breast cancer screening using a handheld device, in partnership with the Ghana Health Service.
